Isiah International and One World Pharma, Colombia’s biggest Black-controlled and managed fully-licensed cannabis and hemp producer, announce the Company’s involvement in the country’s first black supplier development program. The National Black Supplier Development Program, which was announced yesterday, is a collaborative effort of Stellantis and the National Business League (NBL).

Isiah Thomas, Chairman and CEO of Isiah International and Vice Chairman and CEO of One World Pharma, stated, “We are very pleased to collaborate with Stellantis and the NBL, among the other businesses that constitute the first collective of the National Black Supplier Development Program.” “This collaboration marks a turning point in our pursuit of the high standards we’ve set for ourselves as an ESG leader. Stellantis’ commitment to building connections with Black companies for future contracts and procurement opportunities is something we share. We’re excited to develop goods for the fast-growing and more sustainable industrial hemp sector, which is expected to reach $36 billion worldwide by 2026, according to industry experts.”

Bioplastics have a large market size. It is predicted that a typical car manufacturer’s bioplastic requirements will need about 30,000 metric tons of hemp fiber in the manufacturing of 100,000 tons of bioplastics by 2024/2025. The packaging industry offers even more possibilities, with 300,000 metric tons of hemp fiber required in the manufacture of 1 million tons of bioplastic in 2024/2025.

During a kick-off ceremony at Stellantis North America’s Conner Event Center in Detroit, Mark Stewart, COO, Stellantis North America, remarked, “The Stellantis-National Business League Black Supplier Development Program is a concept whose time has come.” “It is an idea that addresses the need to take direct, decisive, and intentional action to bring economic opportunity to communities that have been denied equal access to the marketplace for far too long, and to confirm, in a very intentional way, our ability to realize the full promise of our country by ensuring that its economic systems are open to all, equally,” says the author.

In the Black Supplier Development Program, One World Pharma and Isiah International are uniquely positioned as environmentally, socially, and governance-aligned (ESG) companies that not only operate in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but also specifically address a majority of the 17 UNSDGs.
